<p><span>We're a firm managing both a hedge fund and a venture fund, and we're consolidating our reporting onto Power BI. We're looking for an experienced Power BI contractor to lead the migration of our existing reports from a mix of Jupyter notebooks and internal web applications, partner with our engineering and business teams to build out new reports and help our business users get up to speed on the platform.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><strong>Requirements:</strong></span></p><ul><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst"><span>3+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, including report development, DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Strong SQL skills and comfort working across multiple data sources (we use Snowflake, plus data from Salesforce, HubSpot, and internal applications).</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Ability to read Python / Jupyter notebooks well enough to understand the analytical logic and faithfully reproduce it in Power BI.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Experience setting up Power BI workspaces, datasets, refresh schedules, row-level security, and gateway configurations in a production environment.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>A track record of training non-technical users — written documentation, recorded walkthroughs, or live sessions.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast"><span>Self-directed: comfortable picking up ambiguous problems, asking the right questions, and driving them to completion without close supervision.</span></p></li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><span><strong>Nice to Have</strong></span></p><ul><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst"><span>Financial services experience (hedge fund, venture, or asset management).</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Familiarity with Snowflake as a Power BI source, including performance tuning for direct query vs. import modes.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Experience standing up Power BI governance practices (naming conventions, certified datasets, deployment pipelines).</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast"><span>Exposure to Salesforce and/or HubSpot data models.</span></p></li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></p><ul><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpFirst"><span>Migrate Jupyter-based reports to Power BI. Translate the analytical logic, data transformations, and visualizations currently produced in Python notebooks into well-structured Power BI datasets and reports.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Migrate web-app generated reports to Power BI. Work with engineering to identify upstream data sources, replicate report logic, and rebuild in Power BI with parity (or improvements) over the originals.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle"><span>Partner with stakeholders to design new reports. Collaborate with the Director of Engineering and business users across the firm to scope, design, and deliver new reports that address current gaps.</span></p></li><li><p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast"><span>Build training materials and enable business users. Produce documentation, walkthroughs, and live training sessions that help non-technical users explore data, build their own simple reports, and use Power BI confidently day-to-day.</span></p></li></ul>
